Wahoo X January Challenge - Set your Benchmark

Btw, spontaneously did FF on Friday to, well, set the baseline. Afterwards, I think I saw something in the horizon……

Nope. They’re only available if you happened to have downloaded them before the “remasters” aka The Great Cleanse

It seems that The Company has magnanimously decided to de-SUF these SUF vids for everyone.

Honestly, the need to replace some cycling footage due to licensing issues is one thing, but removing the SUF references and such makes as much sense as a Couchlandrian DS.

@Magnito, obviously you have the mental strength to do it so…just do it already   :smiling_imp:

There’s plenty o’ room at Castle Sufferlandria.

I do, I absolutely do. As mentioned, time constraints… I rarely have a whole day at my disposal to carry out such quests, however, my birthday is coming up in just over a month, time for a Knighthood quest could absolutely fit into my wishlist, together with enrollment to mandatory courses required to use the velodrome…

@Ovenpunch I rode Who Dares today and thought it was really well done. I look forward to repeating it.

As a small protest against Wahoo de-SUFing the Sufferfest, I have decide to de-wahoo the Sufferfest by overwriting the auto generated activity names on Strava. How do you like them apples Wahoo.

My Strava is private, so my protests are limited to the forums and FB.

I’ve run out of ways to say how exasperatedly befuddled I am, not just by the deSUFing but by the oddly haphazard way it’s being done. They take some really innocuous stuff and remove it, or replace it in some places of the same videos they leave other parts of it in. :man_shrugging:t3:

I’m told the new version (which I’ve yet to download) does have Climb integration AND there’s a bit in there that kicks you up to 60%!!! :joy:

Cool! Yes, I saw Cheryl’s post the other day and decided I’d give it a try next week! … as soon as my legs recover from yesterday’s OL - Classic Climbs of France - Alpe d’Huez, which I did on new HM numbers from Friday with my FTP at +5% and the highest it’s ever been on the Wahoo SYSTM app (since Nov 2017)… )

Thanks Glen!

Looks like Cadence Builds was fixed - there was no black screen for me this morning.
Now… as for the new music in Cadence Builds… :face_vomiting:

Too bad they fixed the only Suf part of that remastered video: a very dark place.

I don’t get where the company wants to go. I can imagine, that stories about knights, battles and suffering are not to everyone’s taste, especially the young people. But offering lame, poorly done videos is not attracting these people neither at the price asked for wahoox. If workout and video are not clearly connected I prefer to see some TDF footage I have recorded myself along with a workout from other platforms.

Thanks @Rupert … this should be a right giggle. My heart wishes it would be fun, my head says this is going to confirm stuff I don’t want confirmed
But I’m gonna give it a good go anyway.

Just did Cadence builds and it has had another update. Pleased to report I was pleasantly surprised. Music has been added, new footage and best of all the sufferlandrian speed demon features heavily. Looks like our feedback has been listened to. Happy sufferlandrian!

Agreed (except the bit about listening to our feedback :man_facepalming:t3: ) I think they did a pretty good job with this one actually. Though they no longer call it the Speed Demon of Sufferlandria in the vid, despite featuring it and keeping the SUF quotes.

Not perfect, but it’s progress!

I can’t say I remember much from FF last weekend… I think there were penguins at some point?

I just did the remastered Who Dares and thought it was well done - racing among the top 3 women pros in a 2024 tour was great!

I just completed Who Dares this morning… I’m very pleased with the overall remastering of this session… Wahoo has (finally!) added KICKR Climb support and it’s pretty good. The new video is actually excellent, and I find that it matches the cadence/power efforts MUCH better than the original version did (man, I HATED doing the 60rpm grinding segments while seeing a TTT going at 120rpm on the screen!).

Kudos to Wahoo on this remastering of Who Dares…
