I love the Wahoo SYSTM workouts and training plans, but my bugbear is is not being able to see the future progression in TrainingPeaks. I like to see where my stats will be as I ramp up to an event - seeing where I could be if I stick to the plan is part of what keeps me motivated.
At the risk of being hunted down by the minions, I have created replicas of all the SYSTM cycling workouts as very basic Name, Duration, TSS, IF .zwo files that can be imported into TrainingPeaks, and from the library I drag and drop them into the TrainingPeaks Calendar to match whatever is in my Wahoo Calendar.
I must stress that these are not copies of the workout profiles. They are actually flat rides of a given % of FTP, and only serve to populate the TrainngPeaks calendar with the TSS figures and workout titles to provide a decent view in TrainingPeaks. All the workouts still need to be done in SYSTM, but as the durations and TSS are the same, they marry up when the workout is completed in SYSTM and syncs with TrainingPeaks.
It substantially easier than manually typing them in, and the nice thing is that with the search in bar in the TrainingPeaks workouts it’s easy to locate a workout by name to drag it in.
I have .zwo “flat” equivalents of all the workouts in SYSTM, by name - all 383 of them. Happy to share for importing into TrainingPeaks, but will await approval by a minion until I do.
There is an approved Chrome extension that allows you to export the workout files for all the SYSTM workouts as FIT workout files.
You can export those and convert them to zwo files and then use those in TP the way you’ve used your current placeholder files. That would give you a better idea of how they will affect your fitness.
And you can also use them as custom workouts in Zwift or TP-V, etc.
I’ve exported some of the no-vids and use them as workouts in TP-Virtual.
Downloading with the extension is useful for grabbing a few for training on other platforms, but it would be a long old process to download them all to use as planning placeholders.
That said, as it seems to be OK to make workouts downloadable, here’s a link to a Dropbox folder with 383 “flat” equivalents of the SYSTM library.
My extension requires you to be logged in with a valid subscription. Your 4DP comes from your logged in profile, and targets are set based on that and the FTP/20 minute value. If that differs in another app, then the targets will be wrong, and requires workouts to be re-exported when 4DP or FTP changes.
Thanks, Jessica - yes, logged in, valid subscription etc. It’s odd - the couple that I downloaded as ZWO didn’t follow the same power profile as the workout, yet today I’ve come to use your plug-in and it works perfectly! I have no idea what was going on there then.
In the end I’ve used what I assume is the same underlying process as you have by analysing the rectangles in the SVG, but download all workouts from the Cycling Library at SYSTM
Would be super useful if your plug-in could pull down bulk workouts
