ProRide Tour 2022

Same.

Oh man, as a Sprinter Attacker, with sustained efforts as (still) my weakness, UAE Tour 1 is pure nightmare fuel. Biggest blow up/fail I can ever recall having was my one-and-only attempt at UAE 1 this past January. Seem to recall I cracked about the same time as Demarchi
so that’s a win I guess? :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

This is just ridiculous. Love it.

Day 11 Tour Down Under 3 was done early this morning. Managed to hit all targets just, even the final sprint. Love this ride and coming in 3rd was just a bonus.

Only 2 days left to go now and looking forward to tomorrow

Imagine how well you’d have done on fresh legs!

Hmmm
what if they announce a new set of Pro Rides before you’re done?

You are pure evil Sir Glen.

My biggest fear was that if I decide to do this, or similar, again next year they’d be more of them, but hadn’t considered new ones during :grimacing:

Fingers are crossed, but unsure if that’s for new ones or no new ones. Maybe you have access to inside information
.?

<Note to self: Man, gotta talk to Francois to get those 3 new ProRides from the Women’s Tour de Suisse done before Xmas so we can keep this Tour going!!!>

Lmao. I’m just a shadow of evil. GvA is our Director Sportif after all. Be sure to thank Sirs @Francois-Wahoo and @David.McQuillen.KoS for the gifts that keep on giving.

And the badge quest just fades into the distance

Naah. They’ve been doing new badges for new Pro Rides like the Tour Down Under. So if you’d earned the All Pro Rides badge, you shouldn’t lose it if you’d previously earned it.

Also, there are always gonna be new rides () and new badges and as long as GvA remains our DS then new SUF vids too :pray::pray::pray::pray:

:see_no_evil: not even looking just in case :see_no_evil:
Totally unnecessary. Although to be honest, part of me is sad that it’s the last day tomorrow

I’m foolish enough to not be badge hunting. This is purely for fun, no funky digital badge required to encourage suffering

That said I do need to get the December challenge and AWWWCC ones and would be silly to not do it before the competition ends on 23/12.

A few days recovery after tomorrow and I have the rides all lined up and ready to do.

Only goal I’ve set for 2023 is the GCN, All Running, Yoga for Runners and All Mobility to collect them all. Other goals will be set soon

Day 12 was done early doors - Tour Down Under 2 is nice and gentle except when it’s not, then it’s damned painful and probably woke up half the street with my heavy breathing and heart beat. Was not pretty but got through it.

UAE Tour 2 I’d not done in almost a year and only twice before - that’s a mistake as it’s a awesomely brutal workout. Love the way the intensity builds and builds right to the end. Wasn’t expecting to get through this in one piece, but still hanging in there.

Final stage tomorrow! Tour de Suisse 1 - 98 minutes on a 99% gradient (or thereabouts) - my legs already hate me and they aren’t happy about what’s coming next. But I got a day off tomorrow so going to finally heed the word of JosĂ© Been and ‘
manage my recovery well’. Although I’m pretty sure she’s getting more and more sarcastic as the days pass

Day 13 Tour de Suisse 1 is now done and the whole tour is wrapped up. I always enjoy this ride, much more so than I expect to when I look at the ride profile. Even the 50 minute climb at the start doesn’t get boring.

My favourite part of this ride is the 3 moments where the pop up shows I’m putting out more power than Jasha SĂŒtterlin. Of course, these are downhill sections, and he’s free wheeling, but I’m putting out 56 more watts than he is

Finally, after 13 days, all 16 pro rides have been ridden and can heed the wise words of Joƛé Been to ‘get plenty of fluids and manage my recovery well’.

Tomorrow I plan to rest and watch @RitzMan’s Knighthood quest. Really looking forward to this.

Would I recommend it? Most definitely, it was a great physical and mental challenge, as much fun as doing a ToS plus some extra days just for giggles.
I reckon I had another 2 or 3 days in me if I pushed, but would probably regret it.

Would I do it again? If there was a badge involved or an organised tour - of course. Although I expect this time next year there will be more rides to do.

Having shared the idea, there was no option of letting the nation down.

Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement, really helped on those days when I didn’t feel up for it. Such an awesome bunch of Sufferlandrians :metal:
