THIS IS NOT THE TRAILER! …seriously.
Greetings honorable squire,
I hope the preparation efforts are going well.
I was wondering if there was another option to donate for your cause. I tried several times, but the website of DPF cannot process my credit card information. I really want to support this, but I need a chance to do so.
Any ideas?
That’s too bad. I‘m sure we will find a way, though.
From the top of my head; PayPal me the donation and I‘ll send it to DPF?! How does this sound.
Anybody has a better idea? @Lauren_TeamDPF ?
Sir @Holger1980 and nearly-sir @Pierre - donations can be made through FB (P- you’d have to set one up, a good idea for any others needing an alternate) and also through paypal… to do so: - log in to your paypal, click “Send & Request”," enter info@davisphinneyfoundation.org in the field provided, enter donation, add a note “For Nearly-Sir Pierre," and follow remaining prompts through to submit. CHEERS!
Great, thank you.
I will try setting up FB closer to the event.
Will both options show up as donations on my personal DPF site? I want to make sure everybody gets their chances in the prize pool.
Thank you, @Lauren_TeamDPF, for this information. I took the steps you mentioned.
I set the options in Paypal as “send money to a friend” to prevent DPF from having to pay for the transaction. The only other option I had was to “Pay for goods or services.” And since (at least from here in Germany) there is no specific “donation” option on Paypal, I would highly recommend to everyone who wants to donate this way, doing this too.
I’m happy to support the DPF and Soon-Sir @Pierre.
@Pierre wow that is an evil route you are choosing!! Kudos in advance.
I‘m doing my six hour trial run today.
Swing by and have a peek - for the first part:
Butter - Blender - Local Hero.
Berlin timezone (GMT+2), 09:00 to 13:30.
Well… NOW.
EDIT: Took the (dead) links down. Trial run was pretty good.
Cheers.
PS: I‘m testing all my technical antics and setup, Feedback most welcome!
Nice and clean paincave.
Microphone audio is ok here.
Thank you. My old Airpods actually ran out of battery after the first two hours and I placed my backup strategically far away.
My guardian angel arrived with a fix.
I believe in clean and tidy suffering. Actually, that statement is a lie. It only looks like this for the stream.
Now where were we: Blender kicking my butt…
Local Hero at 90% FTP after four hours of riding is just cruel! It absolutely overcooked my legs.
Can‘t say this day is boosting my confidence.
I‘m dropping intensity for The Rookie to stsy in the game - hard.
On the bright side, most of the technical stuff works flawlessly. And my knee, which is usually the weak link held up nicely.
Oh My GvA! Please tell me you weren’t planning to do your Knighthood quest at those percentages!? That is a recipe for failure. Look at 70-80% intensity. This is an endurance event @Pierre. The goal is to finish, not BE finished before you get there. By the time I hit my last vid, Revolver, I am pretty sure there were intervals that were closer to 60% and they felt like 120%.
Hah, no no no, don‘t worry.
With my sleep and other things going on, I will start with 70%. Max. In lvl mode. This is already doubtful. We’ll see… I learned a lot today.
Damn, why did I really crush my last FF.
Today was the biggest day in the knighthood prep plan and the coaches actually suggested this intensity.
I have only 20mins of The Trick left and I am completely destroyed - but happy.
Also: Because of the stream it was probably the first longer workout where I kept all my clothes on. SO hard.
@Pierre Todays series of videos will really help prepare you for the quest. 70% is a great target especially given the length of some of the videos on your list. You are almost there!
You’re going to crush the KoS attempt.
Yes, that session is more brutal than it appears because the recoveries are still Z2, not Z1.
If anything, the KOS Training Plans teaches you NOT to plan to run your videos at 90% intensity.
in theory with reasonable training you should be able to run every session between 70-80%. But, definitely not 90%.
The KOS Training Plan runs you at 90% for a lot of the sessions, but only because you’re only doing 5. On the day of your attempt you really shouldn’t plan on doing any of the videos higher than 80%. Similar to what @Glen.Coutts said.
Don’t worry. You’ve got this.
@Pierre i found the 5 ride training day harder than the actual KOS day but those 5 at uncomfortable levels will stand you in good stead .
