After trying out Rouvy for a few months earlier this year, I might be giving them a go as my main subscription option too when my annual SYSTM subscription lapses.
I thought their recent major update (let alone the fact they are still doing meaningful updates) really made some decent improvements, and although there are still some tweaks I would like to see, that would be the case with any app.
I also like their workout creator more than Zwift (let alone the fact they have a workout creator), even though the overall experience is pretty fragmented between the app, web interface, and companion app.
I have cancelled my subscription as I do every year at this time as summer training goes fully outdoors. Whether I come back remains to be seen. One thing I have been doing recently is the strength training. Anyone have any suggestions for alternative video options while I don’t have access?
For me the problem is most of those are just not useful.
SUF Vids- these being deSUFed just makes them no fun to ride anymore as they are just another training vid.
Pro-Ride, On location, ect. - most are not all that great or are to hard to fit into my training program.
Training Plans - stale and not really changed in 10 years. Have moved to HumanGo for more adaptive training which brings back the other vids not fitting in. Plus, there is the lack of any analytics.
Strength and Yoga - again same old plans with little to help you target towards your goals. Better advice elsewhere online that allows you to expand with more benifit.
To me the app was good about 10 years ago but in the current market it has little value given the cost and once we loose our connection to Sufferlandria there is nothing left to keep me here.
Worth noting that Humango is a Human Powered Health project. Human Powered Health is closely linked to Wahoo. So maybe the future (death) of SYSTM lies in Humango…
I believe @TheSonOfGVA is suggesting you comment on one of Joyce’s LinkedIN posts rather than DM him. Regardless though, that is VERY disappointing but, not at all surprising.
Both. The plans get a bit old and don’t really have any progression to them, so I have moved to an app that uses more weights that encourages progression.
I am not sure what you mean by progression, because the workouts do get progressively harder. They are designed to be done without weights because they do not want to require use of a gym.
If you say weight training is a better approach, that is another matter.
Well, every summer I cancel my subscription, because gardening and some riding outside is all I have time and strength/energy for. However I made a point to add this to my subscriptioin cancelling because I had been thinking about swapping to an annual subscription to keep the yoga and strength sessions over the summer.
The sudden bleaching of the sufferfest humour out of the videos and the offputting bits of Revolver have put a sad damper on that thought.
I threw this note into my cancellation:
“the price is too high for my usage, Sufferfest humour is being removed making the SUF videos uninspiring, also new video Rollercoaster is creepy and needs a proper human edit to remove slo mo videos of children timed to sexual lyrics. Why is no Wahoo employee paying attention to valid content issues clearly stated on Wahoo’s own SYSTM forum? I find that very disturbing and will wait to see if Wahoo resolves or even bothers to reply to its subscribers before I reactivate this subscription in the autumn. Otherthan those three points I found SYSTM excellent value. The Sufferfest and 4DP is a treasure trove not to be found elsewhere. “I can never leave” but it looks as though Wahoo will allow Sufferlandria and its humour to leave me. Strange business plan this. Thank you for reading and I hope this assists Wahoo in fine tuning its approach.”
I just did my 4DP this morning and hope to do some big suf 3 hour sessions in the last couple weeks my sub is on. Maybe/probably I will be back in autumn/winter, because I’m hoping Wahoo actually reads some of what we are submitting and keeps some Sufferfest in its library rather than continuing its book-burning like purge.

I was thinking about this and the coincidental? Timing of what’s happening with cycling TV coverage in the UK this year. At the end of this season, terrestrial TV that is broadcast on all formats has previously been showing giro, tour and vuelta. Mostly I watched the ITV channel for TdF. I liked their style, delivery and interest they added to the presentation.
But at the end of the season this year, they lose the rights to do this and only a satellite channel called Eurosport will be able to broadcast the grand tours. Which in itself used to be a channel bundled on our SkyTV service with whatever pack I have, I don’t pay per view or subscribe to a sports pack.
Eurosport has now gone to a premium channel package and effectively killed any chance of me watching the grand tours again, I preferred not to watch Eurosport when it was available because the commentary was dull, the presentation style very ordinary and basic.
So, if the owners of Eurosport have bought premium rights to UCI grand tour content, and locked it away to premium TV subs, maybe they are applying their rights to other channels like wahoo ‽
Just looked at when Rollercoaster came out 21st February, announcement Eurosport UK was closing down 16th February , does anyone know what was the 1st Suff video to be remastered ? And was it around this timeframe ? But then I guess it all depends where the original videos were licensed from, might not have been Eurosport at all but Discovery did buy Eurosport in 2015.
