It was your idea. You said I had to do it because I discussed it. It’s all your fault. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
I don’t know if it was The Best Thing In The World but Stage 3 is in the books. Now To Get to The Other Side tomorrow. If I do, all will be good.
TGTTOS. Classic!
I rode my 2 hour endurance ride today. It was not The Best Thing in the World. But I have TGTTOS scheduled for tomorrow and No Place Like Home and The Wretched scheduled for Wed. Then I’ll have to tone it down so I actually have enough legs to get through my KOS on Sunday. So I’ll ride along with you at least two days. And we’ll see how Wednesday feels. lol.
The Wretched killed my knees during my first KOS, which means it’s on the books for this one too. So, hopefully Wed will be like a recon ride for Sunday.
I found where I rode all of the weekday rides in 2016. However, i didn’t ride either weekend. I’ll be back on Wednesday.
I made it to the Other Side. Through the first four stage I am + 21 TSS over 100% and + .23 IF over 100%. I need to get a something in the bank because I think I may give a bit back on the final two stages.
Tomorrow so Wretched ride.
I rode TGTTOS this morning. It was both easier and harder than I was expecting at the same time. Those cadence targets…
I feel Wretched already.
That Wretched ride is over. Stage 5 done.
The only lasting effects of the Covid I started June with is I get really tired in the afternoon. Today I was able to grab a 45 minute nap. It really helped. At no time did I feel I couldn’t finish this stage at 100%.
Smashing it! All downhill from here
You’re definitely riding on the earlier side of the Sufferlandrian Day. I just rode it 2 hours ago after prepping with No Place Like Home. I’m all kinds of worn out, now. I need a recovery ride from my recovery ride.
I like to try and get the rides done on the earlier side of the 50 hour window. That gives me some flexibility just in case. Only once did I really need it and glad it was there.
Been there!
The Wretched is hard. And you’re doing it while still feeling the after effects of COVID. I salute your dedication to suffering.
But if you’re still feeling mid-day fatigue, definitely take some time off after this to recover fully and come back even stronger.
Definitely planning to do so. I just felt since I put this revival tour together, I should do it if I could. So far, I am doing ok. I’d be lying though if I didn’t say I had some concerns about the last two stages. Maybe stage 8 more than stage 9 everything else being equal. But having to do stage 9 the day after stage 8 puts both in question for me. I will get them done, just not sure at what effort level.
I got to the other side, but in real life. I did a ride I haven’t done since the Pandemic and paid tribute to a 74 year old rider who was killed by an intoxicated driver on a local 8% climb. There is a memorial to him where he was struck. Now to do two loops.
I passed my Rookie ride. Did the three 10 minute rides at 102%, 101% and 100% respectively. Going in to Stage 7 with TSS + 24 and IF + .25 above 100% for the Tour! Not great but I will take it.
Not sure what tomorrow will bring so I will just Do As You’re Told.
I Did As I Was Told and Stage 7 is done. Heading into the final 2 stages & 4 rides. Currently sitting at +40 TSS and + .39 IF over 100%. Hoping that is enough of a cushion to get through the entire Tour above 100%. Tomorrow will be the day I either power through or blow up
.
Stage 8 is PAINFULLY in the books. I managed to crank out A Very Dark Place right at IF and + 1 TSS. Then 9 Hammers right at TSS and + .01 IF. But that came at a price. My legs are fried. Like, can we please move the master bedroom downstairs, fried.
That leave me at + 41 TSS and + .40 IF above 100% going in to the final stage. I do catch a brake with the first ride, Power Station. That is my favorite Sufferfest ride and was my Ride #7 of my Knighthood. Unfortunately then I have to do Violator.
I guess that means on Sunday I need to publish the dates for ToS 2017!
